Zenun Djonbalic of Yonkers, New York, passed away on October 31st, 2022. He was 60 years of age. Born in Guci, Montenegro, to Halil and Gjyka Djonbalaj, Zenun was the eldest of 6 children. Zenun lived in Montenegro and Italy until he was 12 years of age. He would immigrate to the Bronx with his family in 1973 where he would attend PS 86. Zenun graduated from John F Kennedy High School before attending Ulster Community College where he received an associates degree in finance.
From an early age Zenun was passionate about soccer. He wore the number 1 jersey for the New York Eagles (formerly the Albanian Eagles), John F. Kennedy High School and Ulster Community College. Zenun also loved trout fishing and camping.
Zenun worked for William Moses and Company as an on-site property manager and supervisor. He loved being a property manager and would do anything he could to help people. Whether he was finding someone a new job, helping a tenant who needed something fixed, or helping the homeless. Zenun was always there for people.
Zenun will be remembered as an amazing and well-loved gentleman. He would go out of his way to help anybody. He was hardworking and could fix anything with his hands. Those who were fortunate to be close to Zenun will remember him as loving, and caring and knew how to live life to the fullest.Zenun is survived by his parents, Halil and Giyka Djonbala, his brothers, Henry (Marianne) Djonbalaj and Cela Djonbalaj. His sisters; are Naijle (Joseph) Sellers, Floria (Smajl) Thaqi and Fatmire (Arben) Gjonbalaj Dedushaj. He will be deeply missed by his three children, Ariana, Gani, and Vincent Djonbalic. Zenun will be missed by his large extended family, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Zenun’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York, on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022, from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. The interment will take place at Kensico Cemetery located at 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, New York, on Thursday, November 3rd at 11:00am.
