Walter John Burke a Pelham Manor, NY resident of 51 years passed away on Saturday, June 24th at 84 years of age.
Born in New York City, NY to Patrick and Elizabeth Burke, Walter was one of four
children. He was raised in Manhattan and attended St. Jean the Baptist grammar school before graduating St. Anne's high school.
Walter proudly served his country in the US Army. After returning from the war he held various positions before he settled in at AAA. It was at AAA where he met and married his wife Margaret and they had 53 wonderful years together.
Walter will be remembered as a charming gentleman with a good sense of humor. He loved traveling with his wife or going out with his friends to eat. He was a a member of the Irish Benevolent Society for 18 years and enjoyed going back to Ireland to visit
family.
Walter is survived by his wife Margaret, his sisters Eileen Lundberg and Theresa "Terri" Brosnan. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and all those who knew him.
He is pre-deceased by his sister Mary Schwabe.
A celebration of Walter's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Wednesday, June 28th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.
A Mass will be held at St Catharine's Church, 25 Second Avenue Pelham NY on Wednesday, June 28th at 11:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in
