Thomas J. Rizzi, of New Rochelle, and a former resident of Pelham, NY for 60 years, has passed away on May 8th at the age of 99 years. Thomas served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1946. After his discharge, he resumed his successful career with the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) as Manager of their branch store in Bronxville, NY, a position he held up until his retirement in the late 60s. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family; vacations to Pennsylvania, Vermont, Florida and California; the outdoors; reading; current affairs; favorite movies; finance; the sport of thoroughbred racing; and his favorite baseball team, The Yankees. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Vasco Rizzi; brothers John & Carlo Rizzi; sister Adriana Del Pozzo; brothers-in-law Connie Kozak and Nicolas Del Pozzo; and sister-in-law Ella Rizzi. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years Antoinette (Nettie) Rizzi of New Rochelle; his son Gregory Rizzi, daughter-in-law Cynthia Bolker, and granddaughter Michelle Rizzi of Del Mar, CA; his loyal caregiver Elizabeth; his siblings Frank Rizzi, Caroline Rizzi, Theresa Henry & Mary Kozak; sisters-in-law Eileen Rizzi, Clara Rizzi, Grace Scocozza and Jeanne Solicito; and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces. Viewing will be at the Pelham Funeral Home at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY on Sunday, May 11th from 1pm to 3pm and 7pm to 9pm. Church services will be at 10 am Monday, May 12th at St. Catharine's Church at 25 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY. Burial Services will follow immediately at Ferncliff Cemetery at 280-284 Secor Road, Hartsdale NY. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Father Flanagan's Boys Home in memory of Thomas J.
