Thomas Joseph Riccio of Pelham passed away on Wednesday, October 14th. He was 60 years old.
Born in New Rochelle, NY to Lester and Gertrude Riccio. Thomas attended New Rochelle High School and would later receive his Bachelors Degree from the University of Phoenix.
Thomas met Gloria (Rinaldi) at the Boat Yard in New Rochelle where they would date and fall in love. The two married in June of 1980. His career would be a full one. He was the US Postmaster in Larchmont, NY; owner of the Firehouse Deli in Pelham, NY, and Manager at the Westchester County Taxi and Limousine Commission. Thomas's real love for life however came through his family - his wife, children, and his friends.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Gloria. He will be greatly missed by his children: Matthew and Diana. He will be lovingly remembered by his close friends and extended family, especially the Mullen Family: Doris, Thomas, Christina and Michael. He will be missed by his brother, Rich.
Thomas was a kind and loving family man. He loved all sports and coached many teams throughout the years. One could often find him at home watching the Yankees or the Jets game. His caring nature led him to be an active supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project.
A Celebration of Thomas's life will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, October 16th. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at The Church of St. Catharine's, 25 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
