Thomas F. Cusack Jr. passed away on April 4, 2019 in Bayside, NY. He was born in New York, NY on July 14, 1937 to Thomas and Agnes (Griffin) Cusack. Thomas was the eldest of four. He was raised in the Highbridge section of the Bronx and attended elementary school at the Sacred Heart School, graduated from Xavier High School in NY, NY , obtained his Bachelors Degree at Fordham University and continued his education at Fordham School of Law where he obtained his JD Degree. He was editor of the law review As a young man, he worked at Yankee Stadium, but he was a New York Giants fan (both baseball and football). Thomas served his country honorably in the National Guard from 1956-1963. While in school obtaining his law degree, he met Ann Byrne. He had wanted to get married sooner, but Ann insisted that he finish his law degree. So finally in 1963, at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Bronx, New York, the two were married. They lived in Pelham Bay and then Staten Island until in 1972 they moved to Pelham Manor were Thomas lived until 2017. Here they raised their three sons, Thomas, Robert and William. Thomas practiced law with the DeForest & Duer firm in lower Manhattan for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking nature walks, traveling to Trout Lake and Long Beach Island and skiing at Belleayre. Thomas was a family-loving, religious man who was extremely intelligent, generous, very knowledgeable, detail oriented and quick witted. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann; his parents and his sister, Marilyn. Thomas leaves behind to cherish his memory his three sons, Thomas, Robert and William; his daughters-in-law, Mary and Marianne; his grandsons, Thomas IV and Nicholas; his brothers, Robert of Connecticut and Bill of Ohio as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Thomas' life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY on Tuesday, April 9th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Wednesday, April 10th at 10:00am. Cremation will be private.
