Shelton Brown Woodley of Walden, NY departed this life on Monday June 15, 2015 peacefully at home. He lived a rewarding 74 years on this earth. The son of the late Deary Sr. and Minnie Woodley, he was born on June 28, 1940 in Mt. Vernon, NY.
Shelton was a known by all he met as a gently, patient man. He was loved by all. His passions were his wife of 41 years, family, friends, photography and his dogs. Friends and family often recall his wry sense of humor and his quick ability to be there for his friends and family.
Shelton started his career as a jet mechanic in the Air Force then moved on to a service career as a nurse and later worked in the U.S Postal Service.
An avid scouter, Shelton was a leader of Troop 41 in Mount Vernon and Unit Commissioner for the Four River District.
Those of us, who have had the pleasure of knowing and loving Shelton, know that he did everything with completeness and passion. He became involved in Progressive Lodge #64 where he became Past Master, a high category in the Lodge.
Shelton leaves to cherish his memories wife Maureen, sister Joyce Brown, sons Adrian and Eddie, daughter Anika, grandchildren Nicole, Danielle, Andrew and Kaira, great grandchild Ja'Nathan, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by parents Deary Sr. and Minnie, one child Christopher and siblings Lester, Grady Lee, Elva Dora and Deary Jr.
