Ruth Katherine Tappert Pritz of Mount Vernon, NY formerly of New Rochelle, NY died March 16, 2013 at 85 years.
Born in New Rochelle, to Margaret Weingart Tappert and Gustav A. Tappert, where she lived until moving to the Wartburg Adult Community in Mount Vernon, in 1996.
She attended New Rochelle public schools graduating from Albert Leonard Senior High School in 1945. May 30, 1948, she married Werner William Pritz at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, New Rochelle, NY.
Mrs. Pritz is survived by her sons Michael E. Pritz, Sr. of Orange, CT. and Stephen W. Pritz and wife Nancy of New Rochelle. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael E. Pritz, Jr. and wife Melinda of Plainville, CT, Jessica E. Villella and husband Anthony of Johnston, RI, William C. Pritz and Jordan J. Pritz of New Rochelle; her great-grandson Gabriel Pritz of Plainville, and her brother William Tappert and wife Madeline of New Rochelle.
She was predeceased by her husband and daughter-inlaw Lina Petruccelli Pritz. A lifelong member of St. Luke's Church, where she was baptized, and attended Sunday school. She was a member of the Luther League, served on the Attar Committee and participated in other events. Mrs. Pritz was the Granddaughter of the late Rev. Dr. C. Reinhold Tappert, former Pastor of St. Luke's Church in New Rochelle, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 95 Eastchester Rd., New Rochelle on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. William J. Damrow presiding.
