Ronald O. Giustino (known to many as "Chubby") of Pelham, NY passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 27th surrounded by his family.
Born July 26, 1925 to Anthony and Mary Giustino of Pelham, New York. Graduated Great Neck High School, Great Neck, N.Y. Graduated School for Art Studies, N.Y.C.
Served in the Pacific in World War II in the Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees).
Married Yvonne Landry October 18, 1947, in St. Catharine's Church, Pelham.
Charter member, Coach and President of Pop Warner Football.
Served continuously over 20 years in the Pelham Fire Department, Liberty Engine & Hose Co., First Fire District, in many posts (Volunteer, Secretary, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners).
Retired in 1990 from Bulova Systems and Instruments Division of Bulova Watch Co. as Property Administrator.
Ronald is survived by five daughters: Adrienne Bank, Janine Giustino, Denise Pallett, Dorienne Dewire, and Renee Purdy, and five sons-in-law: Buddy, Stuart, Harry, Joey and George. He will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren (Bobby, Michael, Jason, Christopher, Danielle, Dana, Joey, Paul and Nicholas), and three great grandchildren (Marcus, Brianna and Mia). Ronald is pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Harold who will be remembered with love.
Visiting hours will be at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, N.Y., on Monday, October 31st from 5-9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Catharine's Church, Second Avenue, Pelham, on Tuesday, November 1st at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the Mass at Beechwood Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY.
