Robert Locke Nelson of Pelham Manor, NY entered into rest, March 11, 2021. He was 78.
Robert Locke Nelson was born on November 11, 1942. His parents were Edgar and Elizabeth (Betty) Locke Nelson. Robert was born in Evanston, Illinois. He was married for 54 years to his loving wife Barbara and was a Pelham Manor resident since 1980.
Robert served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was an active member of the VFW. After leaving the Marines, he worked at United Airlines in a variety of positions, from a Passenger Agent to Sky Cap to Air Freight. He retired from United Airlines in 1998.
Robert was a man of integrity. He was also very social, outgoing and generous. He was quite a character, a creative person who loved dogs and entertaining the kids in his neighborhood. He had many hobbies and was an avid car collector (real and model). He also appeared as an extra in a couple of Hollywood movies made in New York.
Robert is survived by his wife Barbara Nelson their son, Christopher.
A Memorial Service will take place Friday, May 21 at 11 AM at Christ Church on Pelhamdale Ave. Robert's ashes will then be laid to rest at a Family Plot in Arlington Vt.
