Robert J Glover of Pelham, NY, known to many as "Doc" passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 19, 2012. Born in Mt. Vernon on April 28, 1941 Robert was raised in Eastchester graduating from Eastchester High School. Robert married Mary Lynn Cottrell (deceased), and together raised their children, Robert Jr. (deceased), Michael (retired Pelham Police Sergeant) and Sherry Ann of South Carolina. Robert remarried Theresa Fraioli DeRenzis, of Harrison, NY for over 30 years; Theresa is mother of Lori DeThomas (Maryland) and Anthony DeRenzis (Yorktown). Robert and Theresa are grandparents to 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Robert was 1 of 7 children - Patricia Martin, Dorothy Mitchell, Joseph Jr (deceased), Alfred (deceased), John (deceased) and George.

In 1962 Robert joined the volunteer Fire Department Pelham Hook & Ladder, was appointed paid firefighter of the Pelham Fire Department in 1963. In 1969 transferred to the FDNY Engine 83 Ladder 29. In 1990 transferred to City Island Ladder 53. Robert finally retired from FDNY in 1999. He was also able to serve as Chief of the Pelham Fire Department for 18 years retiring from that position in 2007. Robert was a member of the FDNY Holy Name Society, FDNY Emerald Society, Sound Shore Chiefs Assoc. and NYS Fire Chiefs Assoc.

Visiting will be held on Saturday from 7-9, Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave. Pelham, NY. A memorial service will be held at 11am on December 26th at St. Catherine's Church, 25 Second Ave, Pelham, NY. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be sent to The NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation, www.nyffburncenter.com
