New Rochelle

Richard Alexander “Keto” Woolcock of New Rochelle, New York passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023. Keto was born in Honduras and was raised in Cayo and Belize City, Belize. He was 85 years old.

Keto was the third of eight children from his mother, Elsie Mae Gordon. His surviving siblings are Elena Zetina (née Woolcock), Roland Yorke and Lorraine Yorke. Keto is also survived by his foster siblings Jeanie Mitchell Faloon, Kelly Fischer Faloon and Trudy Boyd Faloon, his lifelong friend Glenda Auget and his first cousin Alice Goff.

Keto had two children with Judith “Judy” Anora - Richard Andrew “Randy” Woolcock and Mercedes Jane “Mercy” Woolcock (Upshur). Randy and his wife Lisa, along with Mercy and her husband Dave blessed Keto with six grandchildren: Richard, David, Nyameeche, Daris, Chance and Lauren. Nyameeche and her husband Steven gifted him with three great-grandchildren: Imogen, Fable and Elsie. Keto chose Brenda Matute to make a life with and for nearly forty years they loved, laughed, cooked and traveled.

Keto left Belize at nineteen years old, with the help of Robert “Papa” and Mary “Mama” Faloon, to further his education in the U.S. While working toward obtaining his G.E.D, Keto was “adopted” by one of his teachers, Mercedes “Moms” Thomas. Keto went on to put himself through college and graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Keto worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for almost twenty years before becoming a successful Entrepreneur in Real Estate.

Keto was an avid fisherman and an amazing swimmer. While he described himself as shy, Keto was larger than life to most people. He would give you the shirt off of his back and would make sure that anyone who visited his home never left hungry. Keto loved working with his hands and enjoyed taking things apart to see how they worked.

A Remembrance Service will be held at Pelham Funeral Home - 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York - on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm.

The family invites you to join them - at the funeral home only - to share stories and fond memories of Keto.
