Richard P. Doyle, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home. Born in Mount Vernon, New York, and raised in Pelham, Richard lived a full life marked by love, service, and dedication to family, country, and community.
A proud graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School, Richard went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. He built a long and successful career in sales and management with Duffy Mott and later with Sun-Diamond Growers of California.
Richard had a deep love for football and was a passionate coach and mentor. He spent many years coaching Pop Warner Football in Pelham, NY, worked with young athletes at the Joe Namath Football Camp, and served as a high school football official throughout Westchester County. He cherished the annual Doyle family gatherings at West Point football games and was a lifelong fan of the New York Jets, never missing a Sunday game.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Gail Doyle. He was the son of the late John F. Doyle and Regina Stanley Doyle, and brother to William (Nancy), Vincent, Lorraine (Fred) Weigold, Jack (Nancy), Betty (John) Berrigan, and MaryJane (George) Lawton—his only surviving sibling.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Elizabeth Heffernan (John), Catherine Gosselin, Timothy Doyle (Michelle), and Ellen Jenkins (Keith). He was predeceased by his son, John Doyle and his wife, Heather King Doyle. He was a proud grandfather to Justin (Nicole) and Jared Gosselin; Brendan, Shannon, and Quinn Jenkins; and Dylan, Taylor, and Madison Doyle. He is also survived by stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
