Raymond Mark Casey

Raymond Casey of Bronx, NY formerly of Manhattan passed away on September 22nd, 2021. Born in Manhattan to Martin and Mary Casey, Raymond was one of 4 children. Raymond attended St Barnabas Elementary School before graduating from Cardinal Hayes High School. Raymond would join the United States Army and work as a chief. Cooking was his passion, and he would cook all throughout his life at home and at family events.

Raymond worked for MABSTOA under Mike Quill. Raymond worked as a mechanic and later an engineer. He would eventually go to Engineering school. After graduating with a degree in Engineering Raymond would work for Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville.

Raymond would meet the love of his life, Marie Christy. They got married in St. Brendan’s Church, Bainbridge Avenue and would spend their time living between the Bronx and the Catskills.

In his spare time Raymond loved to read, tape shows on VHS, listen to music, and go on long drives with his cars. He also loved dancing to country music at the Tuxedo Ballroom and the Jaguar House.

Raymond will be remembered as a man whose smile would light up any room. He was charming, had great finesse and had a thirst for knowledge. He could speak about any subject and would love to debate. He was generous, had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help people.

Raymond is survived by his sister Barbara, his very close friend Mary Munnelly, His extended family, and close friends. He is predeceased by his wife Marie, his sister Joanie, and his brother Martin. Raymond will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Raymond’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham New York on Friday September 24th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Barnabas Church located at 4343 Martha Avenue, Bronx New York on Saturday September 25th at 9:30am. Raymond’s remains will be repatriated to Strabane Co. Tyrone Ireland to be with his wife Marie Casey.
