Ralph Conte

July 7, 1933 — July 2, 2020

Ralph Conte of City Island, New York passed away on July 2, 2020. He was 86 years old. Born in White Plains, New York to Anthony and Angelina Conte, Ralph was the youngest of two children. He was raised in White Plains and attended local schools. After graduating from high school, Ralph worked at an auto body shop in White Plains and it was there he would learn to drive a car. During that same time, Ralph would meet his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Jeanie) Mazzella of City Island.

Ralph was drafted to the US Army and would proudly serve his country during the Korean War. It was on his return he would marry his sweetheart Virginia and they would settle in City Island.

Ralph worked as an operating engineer for Local 137 for over 40 years and thoroughly enjoyed his work. In his spare time, he would hunt, spend time on the computer and take care of the garden. Although he loved the outdoors there was nothing more important to him than his family.

Ralph will be remembered as a gentleman who was always there to help anyone he could. He was easygoing, quiet, generous and loving. He will be missed by his wife Virginia, his daughter Susan (Angelo) Cerrone, his son Michael (Danielle) Conte, his cat Coocoo, and his three grandchildren, Stephanie (Cerrone) (Giancarlo) Di Monte, Paul Cerrone (Andria) and Laura Cerrone. He is predeceased by his brother Mario.
