Norris Lee Winborne of Mount Vernon New York passed away on January 1st 2022. He was 62 years old. Born in the Bronx to Freddie and Mary Winborne, Norris was the third of four children. He was raised in the Bronx where he attended PS 5 elementary school before graduating from Dewitt Clinton High School. While attending High School Norris was an avid basketball player and played on the High School team.
Norris worked various jobs after graduating High School. He worked as a technician for Atlantic Bell for many years with his father Freddie. After graduating culinary school he worked as a Chef at Charlie's Steak house for some time. He also managed various gas stations in the Bronx before becoming a health care aid for John and Lucy Colon for over 10 years. In his spare time Norris loved to play basketball & was an excellent cook. He would cook for every and any occasion.
Norris will be remembered by his family as a hardworking, strong and fun gentleman who always dressed suave. No matter what you were going through he would bring a smile to your face or tears to your eyes from laughter. He was a warrior who was extremely giving, very outgoing, compassionate & a loving father.
Norris is survived by his mother Mary, his son Norris Lee Anderson Brooks Winborne, his daughter Symphony Winborne, his grandsons Sean Smith Jr & Aiden Brooks, his Brother Joseph (Jeanette) Winborne, his sister; Gwendolyn Winborne, as well as his many nieces, & nephews. Norris will also be missed by his girlfriend Lucinda Josey as well as his many coworkers, close friends and every one who knew him. Norris is predeceased by his father Freddie and his brother Dwain Winborne.
A celebration of Norris’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Tuesday, January 11th, from 9-12AM.
