Najib M Hood

Najib M. Hood of Pelham, New York, known to his friends as Travis passed away on August 29th, 2021. He was 29 years old. Travis was born in Uganda on September 1 1991 to Sunday and Sandra Hood. Travis was the second oldest of four children. Travis was raised in Kampala, Uganda where he attended private schools. Travis immigrated to the United States in 2009 to attend boarding school at San Marcus Academy in Texas. He graduated from Jefferson Adventist Academy before attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock where he studied to be an Engineer. Travis’s family moved to the United States in 2011 to be with him.

After attending Texas Tech, Travis moved to Pelham, New York where he worked at Rockwell’s. Travis loved serve people. His passion was interacting with people from all walks of life. Most recently Travis was working at the Melting Pot in White Plains where he was loved by his peers and coworkers.

In his spare time, Travis loved to run, do kick boxing and was an avid reader. He loved to read books written by Bob Proctor and Robert Greene.

Travis will be remembered as a smart and ambitious person who was always smiling. He was a high achiever and would never give up on anything he set his mind on. He will be described by his family and friends as a gentle soul that loved to laugh. He was always there for his family and friends no matter what their needs were.

Travis is survived by his parents Sunday and Sandra Hood, His siblings, Nafi, Nashtaraque and Nafisa. He will be missed by several Aunts and Uncles, his many cousins and friends. Travis will be missed by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Travis’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Tuesday September 7th at 9:00 am. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery located at 215 North St, Rye, NY at 12:45 pm.
