Micheál Walshe, formerly of Furbo, Co. Galway, Ireland, and a resident of Yonkers, New York, passed away on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, at the age of 48. Born in Galway to Micheál and Della Walshe, he was the second of five children. Micheál spent his formative years in Furbo, attending Furbo National School before graduating from St. Joseph's Patrician College "The Bish." At "The Bish," he excelled in soccer and proudly captained the school team. Summers were marked by his industrious work at Morley's on Yonkers Avenue, under the guidance of his uncles, Tom and John Concannon.
Following secondary school, Micheál pursued his passion for engineering at Galway Regional Technical College, earning a Certificate in Mechanical and Production Engineering. He later ventured to New York, where he delved into architectural design with Christians Kitchens in Manhattan. Beyond his professional pursuits, Micheál found joy in music, strumming the guitar, singing, and immersing himself in literature. His greatest pride and joy were his two beloved children, Ruairi and Emma.
Remembered for his intellect, charm, kindness, and captivating storytelling, Micheál cherished his travels and frequent visits to his homeland. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories cherished by his parents, Michael and Della, his children, Ruairi and Emma, and his siblings: Fergal (Tara), Ruairi (Anne), Edel (Carlo), and David (Cathy).
