Michael Keane of Maspeth Queens, passed away on June 19th 2019. He was 36 years old.
Born in Ashington, England to Michael and Muriel Keane. Michael was the third eldest of four children. He was raised in Rylane, Abbeyfeale. He attended Duagh National School before attending St. Michaels College in Listowel. After graduating secondary school he worked various jobs in construction. He would return to college to study renewable technology at Institute of Technology Tralee before eventually moving to Queens in search for a better life. He continued his passion for construction and working with his hands. He worked for Duffy's Flooring and more recently Kilree Construction.
In his spare time Michael loved to draw, paint and go on adventures. He loved visiting new places and particularly loved visiting the Brooklyn Bridge. He will be remembered as sociable, friendly and very outgoing person. He was warm, kind hearted and got on with everyone he met.
Michael is survived by his mother Muriel, his brothers; Martin and James and his sister Kathleen. He is also survived by his uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. He will be truly missed by his fiancée Catherine Flynn. He is predeceased by his father Michael and his Uncle Paschal.
A celebration of Michaels life will take place at the Papavero Funeral Home 72-27 Grand Ave, Maspeth NY 11378 on Tuesday, June 25th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Michael's remains will be repatriated home to Ireland on Thursday. A wake will take place on Friday June 28th at Harnett's Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick from 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Requiem Mass will take place at St. Brigits Church, Duagh, Co Kerry on Saturday June 29th at 11:00am. Michael will be buried with his father at Springmount Cemetery in Duagh, Co. Kerry. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.
