Louis Anthony Malfitani of Pelham Manor passed away peacefully on June 4, 2016 at the age of 96. He was born in the Bronx to the late Pasquale Malfitani and Rose Ferrarini.

Louis proudly served his country from 1944-1946 . He later married his wife Frances Nesi in 1949 and moved to Pelham Manor in 1952 where they raised their 5 children. Louis graduated from City College of New York in 1955 earning his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Being a very dedicated and hardworking man Louis was employed by American Hydrotherm Corporation for 40 years as a Mechanical Engineer, retiring as Vice President in 1992.

Louis loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for home improvements. He loved being a handyman and was as handy with a hammer as he was with a slide rule. When he wasn't tinkering around the house, he spent his time gardening and traveling. Many of Louis's fondest memories were the summers he spent with Frances in Kennebunkport, Maine. Being an avid reader, Louis enjoyed reading the New York Times everyday.

Louis is survived by his son Anthony and his wife Lee, his son Joseph and his wife Maggie, his daughter Rosemary and his son Louis Robert. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Catherine Marie Belserio and Michael Malfitani, his two great grandchildren, Isabella and Nicolas Belserio and his sister Rita Marie Malfitani. He is pre-deceased by his wife Frances and his son Nicholas.

A celebration of Louis's life will take place on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 559 Fowler Avenue in Pelham, New York on Wednesday June 8 at 10:00 am.
