Lorraine Smith

Lorraine Janet Smith, of Pelham Manor, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 4th, at the Wartburg Center. She had been living with FrontoTemporal Dementia for 5 years. She was 87. Lorraine was born in New Rochelle, NY, the child of the late Verne and Margaret Hunt. She was the dear sister of William Hunt, who passed away last year, and she was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Smith. Lorraine was the loving mom of Laurie Hojlo and her husband David of Wayland, MA; Richard Smith and his wife Tonianne of Larchmont, NY; and Robert H. Smith and his wife Karen of Norwalk, CT. She was the very proud Grammy of Maggie and Scott Hojlo, Nikki, Robert and Shane Smith, and Max and Ryan Smith. She had so many nieces, nephews and godchildren who adored her. Her pets were the luckiest creatures on earth. Her friends are too numerous to name, as she was loved dearly by so many. Lorraine was a talented seamstress, quilter, homemaker and babysitter and will be truly missed.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
