Lorenzo "Larry" DeBellis passed away suddenly in Yonkers on Sunday June 15th at the age of 83. He was born in Ausonia, Italy to Giovanni and Alessandra before moving to the U.S. with his siblings. Larry began his career as an iron furniture maker, driving a taxi before working his way up to Custodial Engineer in the NYC public schools. In 1956 he met his late wife Anna at Orchard Beach in the Bronx. Larry will be remembered as a very low-key guy who loved golfing, bowling, fishing in PA, the Jets, the Italian National soccer team, traveling and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Rosemary and her husband John, his daughter Joanne and her husband Jim, and his son Nicholas and his wife Maria; his grandchildren Megan, Dylan, Caitlin, Molly, Emmett, Christina, Nicholas, Sabelle and Delaina; his siblings Antoinette, Clino, Nicolina, Guistina and Frank: and Rita's family. His wife Anna of over 42 years, his wife Rita Meiderdrut DeBellis of 10 years and his brothers Nick and Paul predeceased him. Calling hours will be at the Pelham Funeral Home 64 Lincoln Ave Pelham NY Wednesday June 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm followed by a Mass of Christian burial Thursday 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 599 Pelham Manor Road, Pelham NY. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
