Lawrence Benson Jones, "Larry," was born in Joliet, Illinois, the son of Daniel Raymond Jones and Jeanne Benson. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a degree in math and economics, and then received his MBA in finance from the University of Chicago. Larry spent much of his career working for Unilever companies, including Lever Brothers, Chesebrough-Ponds, and Elizabeth Arden. He then worked for David Yurman Enterprises, retiring as Vice President of Finance.
In his retirement, Larry enjoyed playing golf, reading, and watching sports. He recently became an avid walker, enjoying daily walks around the city of White Plains. Larry was a devoted husband of 34 years and a wonderful father. He had a dry sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Larry celebrated and enjoyed each day, and he was particularly thrilled about the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2016.
Larry is predeceased by his parents and his brother Todd. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, his son Andrew, a son from a previous marriage, Matthew, as well as his brother Dan, sister-in-law Maggie, sister-in-law Patricia, and stepmother, Betty.
The family is grateful for all the love and support they have received.
A celebration of Larry's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Thursday May 13th from 4-8 pm. A memorial service will take place at the Huguenot Memorial Church located at 901 Pelhamdale Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York on Friday May 14th at 1pm.
