Lawrence H. Bornholz of Pelham, New York passed away peacefully on May 25, 2016. He was born on April 15th, 1940 in the Bronx to the late Lawrence M. Bornholz and Frances Niedvwiceki. He was raised and lived on City Island for much of his early life.
Lawrence joined The Marine Corps in 1957 and served honorably. In 1975 he married Yvonne Lameiro and they had two children Lawrence D. and Douglas. They were happily married for 33 years until her passing in 2008.
Lawrence was a proud member of the Operating Engineer Local 30. He retired in 2005 from the New York Times Printing Plant. An avid sportsman and member of the NYAC, Lawrence boxed in his youth and loved skiing, kayaking and rowing.
Lawrence is survived by his two sons and grandchildren Lawrence R. and Rose Bornholz.
His life will be honored and celebrated on Tuesday, May 31st from 2:00-4:00pm and from 7:00-9:00pm at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Avenue in Pelham, New York on Wednesday, June 1st at 10:00am. Interment will be at Ferncliff Cemetery following the Mass.
