Karen Corton Alongi

Karen Corton Alongi of Bethel CT passed away surrounded by her family at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx Wednesday June 25th. She was 59 years of age. Karen was born at Westchester Square Hospital in the Bronx to Robert and Genevieve Corton, and was raised in Pelham where she graduated Pelham High School in 1972. Karen furthered her studies at Westchester Community College and worked for many years at the Bethel Board of Education, most recently as Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent. She was aptly nicknamed Tuffy by her father and was an avid Yankees fan. She will be missed by her children Alexandra and Matthew, her mother Genevieve, her brothers Robert, Michael and Richard, her sister-in-laws Kathy and Brooke, her nephews, nieces and large circle of friends. She is predeceased by her father Robert. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation for 'The Karen Alongi Memorial Scholarship Fund' to the Bethel Board of Education in CT.
