Judith Berardinone

~A passing of a family matriarch~

 Our family is steeped in sadness. Our beautiful mother Judith ‘Judy’ Berardinone passed away peacefully, drawing in her last breath on the morning of Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her home in the Bronx, New York.  She was 78 years young. 

 Born and raised in the Bronx, she was the oldest of 4 sisters.  Not a day would go by without her talking with Ellen (Frank) Traina, Kathy (Joseph) Selveggio, who preceded her in death, and Diane (John) Hill.  Judy graduated from Cathedral High School.  Often she would share stories of her younger years and the memories made. Judy would go on to marry Felix Berardinone having 3 children together. While their marriage was not forever, their friendship remained until Felix passed away in 2016. Judy’s devoted children Rosemarie (Mike) Borrelli, Fred (Leigh) Berardinone and Anthony (Celia) Berardinone loved her endlessly.   

 Judy’s children made up the entirety of her world until she was blessed with her Ls.  Judy’s greatest loves were her grandchildren, Layla (11), Lukan (11), Livia (9) and Leo (8).  

 Judy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her dearest friends.  The door was always open for a visitor, a laugh, and a glass or two of wine.   Judy poured her love into all those she loved and lived life compassionately and with such joy.   

  Judy will be remembered as an enviable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed dearly; however, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.  

 A celebration of Judy’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue Pelham, NY on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.    A mass of Christian burial will take place at Church of St. Benedict on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 9:30 A.M.
