Josephine Pinto, a beloved resident of Riverdale in the Bronx, passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in the Bronx to Martin Ryan and Emily Petraites, she was the eldest of three children and spent her formative years in the area, attending PS 32 and PS 45 before graduating from Roosevelt High School.
It was during her high school years that Josephine met her future husband, Joseph Pietrocola. Together, they welcomed their only child, Robert, whom she lovingly raised in the Bronx. Josephine was a selfless and industrious individual, dedicating much of her career to the insurance industry before making a transition to Crown Products, a cleaning supply company. She retired at the age of 85 as an account manager, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Family values were at the core of Josephine's life. As a single mother, she ensured that Robert never lacked for anything, providing him with love, support, and guidance throughout his upbringing.
Josephine will be remembered as a loving, caring, and selfless person whose loyalty and beauty shone brightly in the lives of everyone who knew her. Her warmth and compassion touched many, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son Robert, her grand-daughter Nicole Pietrocola and her brother James Franz. She is predeceased by her brother Anthony Franz.
