Joseph "Soapy" Murphy of Park Ridge, NJ formerly of Tower, Co. Cork Ireland passed away suddenly on November 9th, 2017. He was 39 years old. Joseph was born in Co Cork on July 19th 1978 to Joseph and Anne Murphy. He attended Scoil Mhuire in Montenotte, Cork before working local jobs. He eventually started working for Stryker. It was while working in Stryker that he met the love of his life Cecelia. They met at the Muskerry Arms in Blarney. He would soon follow Cecelia back to New Jersey where they would marry in January of 2016.
Joseph was an avid Arsenal fan. He had every Arsenal Jersey since 1985. He also loved playing darts. He played for the Muskerry Arms Hotel in Ireland and continued to play in Pearl River when he moved to NJ. He played darts for South Bound and The Saloon dart teams.
Joseph will be remembered as a loving, humble and funny person. He loved to tell jokes and would talk to a lamp post if he could. He loved socializing and spending time with his wife and many friends.
Joseph is survived by his wife Cecelia, His parents; Joseph and Anne, his brother Martin and his many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
 A celebration of Joseph's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue Pelham, NY on Sunday, November 19th, from 10:00am to 1pm. Joseph's remains will be repatriated home to Ireland on Monday November 20th. He will be buried at St. Senan's Cemetery in Tower Co. Cork.
