Joseph Accocella

December 8, 1949 — July 3, 2024

Delray Beach

Joseph (Joe) Accocella of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 74 years old. Born in Mount Vernon, NY to Michael and Mary (nee Garzi) Accocella, Joseph was one of three children.

Joe lived in Yonkers, NY until 2018, when he moved to Delray Beach to be closer to his nieces and step grandchildren and enjoy the warmer weather.

Joe will always be remembered as a fun loving Uncle Joey to his nieces Michelle and Melissa, a caring and loyal life partner to Carol; Joe was like a second father to Kristen and Karen, and like a doting grandfather to Jack, Sophie, Olivia, Lenny and Charlie. Joe also had a brotherly bond with his first cousin John.

Joe was an avid Yankee’s fan and he was rarely seen without wearing the pride of his favorite team. He was known for being very punctual and arriving early to all events so he didn’t miss a moment of fun.

Joe was extremely kind hearted; he was everyone’s favorite neighbor, he will be remembered for always greeting his neighbors with a smile or lending a hand to anyone in need. Joe was so thoughtful and generous, he never missed an occasion to send a greeting card, he was always quick to give a tip for services and show up with a gift for everyone.

He loved being surrounded by his loved ones. They were most important to him. His favorite past times are going out to dinner, special occasions and holidays where everyone comes together.

Joseph is survived by his nieces, Michelle Accocella and Melissa Accocella (Carl Adams II), his great niece Jada Adams, his partner, Carol Domenici, his stepchildren, Kristen MacConnell (Brian MacConnell) and Karen Domenici, his step grandchildren Jack Lambert, Sophie Lambert, Olivia Lambert, Lenny Lambert and Charlie Triano. He will be dearly missed by his cousin, John Giovinazzo (Jason Reed) and their daughter Gracie Giovinazzo. He will also be missed by his aunt Rose Giovinazzo and many, many other cousins, friends and neighbors.

Joseph is predeceased by his brothers Dominick and Michael Accocella.
