With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Jose Hilerio of Carmel, New York, formerly of Bronx, New York, on April 24th, 2024. He was 58 years old. Born in the Bronx to Jose and Carmen Hilerio, Jose was the beloved youngest of four children. His formative years were spent in the vibrant streets of the Bronx, where he attended Monroe High School.
From a young age, Jose developed a profound passion for sports. He was a devoted enthusiast who could recount the details of any game or athlete with remarkable precision. This love for sports remained a steadfast part of his life, bringing him endless joy and camaraderie.
Following his graduation from high school, Jose embarked on a career as a Bank Teller, dedicating himself to serving customers with warmth and professionalism. He found great fulfillment in his work at Sterling National Bank, where he formed lasting connections with colleagues and clients alike, embodying his innate capacity for empathy and kindness.
Jose will be fondly remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and selflessness. Despite facing adversity, he never complained and remained a pillar of support for his family and friends. His gentle nature and genuine concern for others touched the lives of all who knew him.
Jose leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his father, Jose Hilerio, his sisters Vilma, Elsie, and Diana, his nephew Alexander Julian, his nieces Jasmine, Joslyn, and Jaylee, and seven adoring grand-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carmen.
