Joan Ann Giordano of Pelham, New York, who was 69 years of age, passed away on Thursday March 17th, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Joan was born in the Bronx to Salvatore and Antoinette (Nee Trappani) Indiviglia. She attended Columbus High School before attending college. During that time she met her lifelong partner and husband, Dino Giordano. They met at a social dance and later married on September 6, 1969.
Joan was a dedicated and strong worker. Amongst other things, it was her strong work ethic, loyal nature and kind heart that contributed to 25 successful years as Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Personnel at Pelham Schools. In her free time she enjoyed reading novels, doing crossword puzzles and spending time in Florida with family.
Joan is survived by her husband Dino, her daughters Christine, Lori, Marie and her sister, Lisa. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joan also leaves behind a legacy of great friends.
A Celebration of Joan's life will be held at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, NY on Monday, March 20th From 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catharine's Church, 25 Second Ave., Pelham, NY on Tuesday, March 21st at 10:00 AM.
