Jo-Ann Cerreta of Pelham, NY passed away on Sunday, April 10th. She was 70 years old. Born in Mt Vernon, New York, Jo-Ann would attend Pelham Memorial High School and go on to graduate from the Westchester Business Institute with her Associates Degree. She would begin her career by working at the Imperial Yacht Club where she met her future husband. Jo-Ann and John Cerreta would have a world-wind romance and be married within six months. The two would be happily married for forty-two years and raise two daughters together.
In 1975 the family would move to Pelham where Jo-Ann would enjoy being a wife and mother. She was an artistic woman who spent many happy hours creating with her hands. Whether she was crocheting or cooking, she loved making things for her family to enjoy. Her specialty, and a family favorite, was her peaches and cream cake. Jo-Ann was meticulous and she possessed a strong and loving will and a fierce determination once her mind was set on something. It is no wonder she felt a closeness to St. Jude.
Jo-Ann is survived by her loving husband John and their two daughters Diana and Michelle (Mostapha) Snoussi. She will be remembered by her two granddaughters: Sophia and Sarah Snoussi. She will be missed by her siblings: Maddie Pearson, Ann Marie Morris and Joseph Imperia. Jo-Ann is pre-deceased by her sister Lucy Raso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 14th at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, NY. Interment will follow at Gates of Heaven, Hawthorne, NY. For more information or to write a condolence, please visit www.pelhamfuneral.com.
