Janet Dehmer Huarte, 88 of West New York, New Jersey passed away on Saturday September 18th surrounded by her family. Loving wife of the late Emanuel Thomas Huarte. Born in Newark, NJ on December 17, 1932, daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Hull) Dehmer.
After graduating Westside High School in 1950, she joined the International Order of The Rainbow Girls. A dedicated member of this order, Janet rose to the position of Worthy Advisor, leading her chapter in service to the community. She was proud of her position at Bell Telephone in Newark, but left soon after starting there to marry the love of her life, Tommy Huarte, at the young age of 19 and having her first baby at 20. At that point, for the next 20 years, her life became her family and being a mother.
She attempted juggling motherhood and college and took classes at UCLA and County College of Morris before shifting her focus on launching her very successful business, language training schools in NYC, NJ, and CT, in partnership with her husband. This business provided Janet and Tommy with world travel and friendships around the globe.
In her retirement, she enjoyed endless time spent at her home on the beach in Puerto Rico with family and friends. She was a passionate shopper, an avid reader, and loved the slots at the casinos. Her infinite devotion to her family is what we all will miss most about her.
Janet is survived by her children, Susan Casbar, Barbara Hill, Lori Fulginiti, and Richard Huarte, son-in-laws, David Rudella and Sam Fulginiti, grandchildren, David Rudella Jr., Laura Casbar (James), Julian Huarte (Sydney), Christopher Huarte (Kevin), Elisabeth Huarte, Gigi Fulginiti, great-grandchildren Elliot, Ava, Sammy, and Matilda, sisters Dru Reynolds and Linda Maushardt and her husband Bill.
