James E. Thompson of New Rochelle, New York, passed away on June 27, 2022. He was 69 years old. Born in Chatham, VA., to Andrew Willoughby and Margaret Thompson-Willoughby, James was one of three children. James graduated from Mount Vernon High School, in 1972. James met the love of his life Cornelia, while in high school. The couple would later marry and move to New Rochelle, NY., where they raised their son, Jermaine Thompson.
James worked as a Carpenter Journeyman. He was a member of the Westchester Carpenter Journeyman Union. He had a strong work ethic and loved his job. James always made sure family came first and always enjoyed spending time surrounded by family and friends, he encouraged his nieces and nephew, to keep a healthy mind and body through fitness.
James will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, granduncle, relative and wonderful friend. He was a faithful, honest, and caring man, he was the first one to help anybody in need. He will be dearly missed; however, his family finds comfort in the many treasured memories he leaves behind.
James is survived by his wife, Cornelia, and his son Jermaine. He will be missed by his sisters, Angela Willoughby and Michelle Willoughby as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
