James Ravida

James Ravida Sr. of Yonker, NY passed away on Tuesday October 30, 2018. He was 68 years old.

Born in Albany to Joseph Ravida and Josephine Ciaio, James was one of two children. He was raised in Pelham while he attended St. Josephs Elementry School before graduating from New Rochelle High School. Upon graduation James briefly attended Westchester Community College where he studied psychology. He briefly worked in Construction before pursing a career with the United States Postal service.

James was known to many as a charismatic, laid back individual. It was his charisma and charm, that won the heart of Susan, his wife of 44 years. They initially met in grammar school before reconnecting later at Hurleys in Pelham. The couple would wed at Holy Name church in New Rochelle. They would raise their children James and Dana in New Rochelle.

In his spare time James loved hunting, spending time with his friends, playing guitar, playing video games and napping. He will be remembered as a good Husband, Father, teacher and patient. He listened to everybody, and gave advice when it was needed.

James is survived by his wife Susan, his children; James and Dana, his mother - in - law Carol Racanello, his many nieces, nephews and everyone he knew. He is predeceased by his brother Carmine.

A celebration of James life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Sunday, November 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place at the Holy Name of Jesus 70 Petersville Rd.
