James K. Harragan of New Rochelle, New York, formerly of Pelham, New York, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, New York City. Jim was born on September 17, 1934, the son of Lucy and Edwin Harragan. He grew up in Bronxville, New York, and attended the Bronxville School and Wesleyan University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957, and spent three years with the Counter Intelligence Corp. He married Winifred DeNunzio on September 24, 1960. He was an advertising executive for over 30 years and more recently an executive recruiter. He was an arbitrator for Finra, past Commodore of the Huguenot Yacht Club, former President of The Greens Homeowners Association, and a member of the Old Guard of White Plains. He is survived by his wife Winifred; daughter Sue and son-in-law Steve Demarest and his children of Park City, Utah; brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Jean DeNunzio of Riverside, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Pelham Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1st at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pelham Manor at 10:00 AM.
