Ivolett Leteria Hutchinson, a life long resident of Mount Vernon New York, formerly of Manchester Jamaica passed away on March 26th 2020. She was 78 years old. Born in Manchester, Jamaica to Reginald and Florence Meade, Ivolett was one of 11 children. She was raised in Manchester where she attended Rose Hill All Age. After graduating school Ivolett went to work as a seamstress. She was self employed and worked hard to provide a good life for her children.
Ivolett met her husband of 50 years through her brother William. They met in Manchester and would marry shortly there after. Ivolett and her husband Clifford Hutchinson were blessed with 8 wonderful children. Her children were her pride and joy. Ivolett was a dedicated, determined and hardworking individual. She was also a fearless risk taker. She decided at the age of 52 to relocate to Mount Vernon NY from Jamaica to seek a better life for her family. She worked as a certified nursing assistant here in New York .
In her spare time Ivolett loved to cook, bake cakes and gardening. She will be remembered for her french-fried chicken and sweet potato puddings. She was very nurturing, loved taking care of people, singing, reading the Bible and praying. She also had a playful spirit, loved to travel, read spiritual books and do crossword puzzles. She was a faithful christian who loved to serve the Lord.
Ivolett is survived by her Husband Clifford, her children Donald Parker, Valerie Parker, Marcia (Richard) Thompson, Colin Hutchinson, Steve Hutchinson, Katherine (Caneise) Ross and Heather (Grif) McIntosh. Also survived by sisters Eulee, Delores, Lydia, Yvonne and Herma. brothers;
Silford, William and Telfordby, her 26 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is predeceased by her son Desroy Hutchinson.
