Harry Albert Seitz, age 89 passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, February 15, 2013 in Tampa, Florida.
Born October 15, 1923 in New Rochelle, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Margaret Seitz. Harry is survived by sisters, Dorothy Wolf of Coral Springs, Florida and Shirley (William) Hintzen of Pelham, NY. Nieces and nephews, Clifford (Karen) Wolf, Jr., Donna (Timothy) Kearins, Darlene Paolercio, Judy Wolf, William (Lisa) Hintzen, James (Joann) Hintzen, Margaret (Gene) Eskildsen as well as 17 grandnieces and grandnephews and 1 great grandniece. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Henry and Margaret Seitz and brother in-law Clifford Wolf.
Harry was a graduate of Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle, NY. He served as a U. S. Navy Seabee in the South Pacific from 1943-1946 during WWII. Harry earned the American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Medal. Harry retired from the former NY Telephone Company (now Alcatel-Lucent) where he worked for about 40 years.
Harry's family will receive friends at Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, NY on Wednesday February 20th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be performed at Blessed Sacrament Church, 15 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY on Thursday February 21st at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
