Guido A. Giantelli of Pelham New York passed away on Friday January 5th 2018. He was 84 years old. Guido was born in Mount Vernon NY to Guido and Jeanette (née Spiridigliozzi). He graduated from Edison High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. It was in high school that he met his wife of 62 wonderful years⦠Julia Spinazola. While still in the Air Force the couple married in 1955 and raised their two children John and Jeanette Giantelli-Kitay in Pelham.
Guido worked as a superintendent of maintenance for Liberty Lines Bus Company from where he retired in 1999. Music was Guido's passion and he spent many hours playing his guitar. He also led two bands The Lime Lights and The Music Book. His other passions included boating, fishing and golfing. He was a house member of Huguenot Yacht club where he spent many hours with his son John and many of his friends.
Guido will be remembered as a family man and friend to everyone. A selfless gentleman who put all ahead of himself and never failed to help anyone that needed a hand. He was generous, loving and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Guido leaves behind his wife Julia , his children John and Jeanette, His six grandchildren, James (Jennifer), Julieann (Eric) Neun, and John Paul Kitay, and Lauren, John, and Liza Giantelli. Also, his four great grand-children, Hailey, Jace and Mason Kitay and Layla Neun. He is also survived by his brother Raymond Giantelli of Shrub Oak.
A celebration of Guido's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY on Tuesday, January 9th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass will take place at St Catherines Church 25 second Avenue on Wednesday, January 10th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle.
