Gloria Portella

Gloria Portella, nee Castaldo, a resident of New Rochelle, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, she was 90 years old. Gloria was born in Mount Vernon, New York to the late Raffaele Castaldo and Bella Maiello.
She raised her family in Pelham, New York where she lived for thirty years. In 1989 she moved to New Rochelle and married her love and soulmate, Michael Portella, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her siblings Emma, Tom, Patsy, Dominick, Louis, Rose and Sylvia.
She is survived by her three children Connie Wisniewski (Ron) of Illinois, Anthony Busa (Margaret) of Florida and Lisa Carroll (Tom) of New Rochelle, five grandchildren Chris and Tim Busa and Samantha, Thomas and Anthony Carroll and her great granddaughter, Eleanor.
She dedicated her life to her family. After raising her own children, she helped her youngest daughter raise three more. She was the life of any party and loved to dance. She enjoyed fun times in the sun with the people she loved.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude's Children Research Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2020, from 9:00AM-10:00 AM, at the Pelham Funeral Home 64 Lincoln Ave Pelham, NY 10803 with A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St Catharine's Church,10:30AM.
Inurnment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
