Geannie R. Daniels, entered this life on October 20, 1949. On Sunday, November 11th, 2018, our dear loved one slipped into eternal rest while at the Mount Vernon Hospital. She was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY to Louise Brown. As a young child, Geannie went to live with her grandparents, Ause Walker and Maggie Walker in South Carolina. As a teenager, Geannie returned to Mount Vernon, NY to live with her mother and stepfather, Clarence Brown, where she attended Mount Vernon High school and earned her high school diploma.
Geannie loved life and people. She served her community through her employment at the Mount Vernon Police Department as a crossing guard for 28 years, as well as a lunchroom monitor for 33 years for the Mount Vernon City School District.
Geannie gave her life to Chris and always had a strong belief and faith.
She was predeceased by her stepfather, Clarence Brown, brother, Clarence Robert Brown, Jr. and Marvin Brown. She leaves to mourn her mother, Louise Brown of Elmont, NY, sisters, Gwendolyn Brown of Mount Vernon, NY, Margie Edmundson of NY, Tammy Brown-Holland of Maryland, brother, Steven Brown, goddaughters, Tamysha Gaillard and Nyah David. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and loved ones.
A celebration of Geannie's life will take place at Mt. Calvary CME Church, located at 38 S 2nd Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10550, on Saturday, November 17th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral Service will take place at Mt. Calvary CME Church, located at 38 S 2nd Ave, Mt Vernon, NY 10550, on Saturday, November 17th from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
