Frank Karl Schaefer of Pelham passed away on Wednesday, September 9th. He was 77 years old.
Born in New York City, Frank was raised in the Bronx and Mt Vernon. He attended Edison High School where he would meet his future wife, Katherine Mitchell at a high school dance. The two would marry in 1963 and remain married until her death in September of 1991.
Frank was a loving husband and father of Ken and Vernon. He loved working with his hands and found his vocation in carpentry and woodworking. He was hardworking, strong and led by example. Being talented with his hands also gave Frank many hours of leisure pursuing some his favorite actives such as archery, photography and karate.
His sons as well as his two loving granddaughters, Katherine and Kira, will miss Frank.
A Celebration of Frank's life will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, September 11th.
