Francis (Frank) L. Nardi of Bronx, New York, passed away on January 20th, 2022. He was 87 years old. Born in Corona, Queens, NY to Raffaele and Rosina Nardi (Reda). Frank was one of four children. Frank moved to the Bronx as a young child where he attended grammar school. Following High School, Frank joined the Navy during the Korean war era. While serving his country, Frank met his wife of 65 years, Rachelina Perricone at a family wedding. The couple would marry in September 1956 and settle in the Bronx where they raised their two sons Frank and Nicholas.
Frank owned Roma Restaurant in the early 1960s and owned a grocery store in the Bronx on 223rd and Barnes. Frank had a strong work ethic and provided for his family. He worked as a manager in various other restaurants over the years.
In Frank’s spare time he loved to paint, play cards, go to Empire City Casino, and was a collector of stamps and coins. He was a great storyteller and loved conversing with people. Frank’s favorite music was Doo Wop from the 50s. Frank loved spending time with his family, and especially loved teaching his grandson Christopher how to make the family’s traditional lasagna.
Frank will be remembered as a hardworking, patriotic, loving, caring, family-oriented man. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Frank is survived by his sons; Frank and Nicholas (Lynn) Nardi, and his sister; Mary Guadagnini. He will be deeply missed by his grandson Christopher. Frank is predeceased by his loving wife, Rachelina Nardi, and by his two siblings, Anthony Nardi and Louisa Ronco.
A Celebration of Frank’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Tuesday, January 25th from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church located at 575 Fowler Avenue, Pelham Manor, New York on Wednesday, 26th at 10am.
