Francis Joseph Murray

Francis Joseph Murray "Frank" of City Island passed away at his home on March 28, 2018. He was 75 years old.
Frank was born in Manhattan to James Murray and Katheleen Thornbury. He attended Cardinal Farley Military Academy and graduated in the class of 1960. Frank continued his education at Iona College where he studied to be an accountant. He graduated in 1965 with a degree and later became a CPA.

Frank spent most of his life in City Island. After a life long career in finance he retired and became a consultant. He had a passion for politics , theology and was very active in the community. He enjoyed cruising on his motor cycle, traveling with his family, sailing and fishing with his friends. Frank was an active member of the Morris Yacht Club, and was also a member of The American Legion Club in City Island.

Frank is survived by his wife Maria of 15 years, his children David Murray (Jo-Ellen), Tanya Newnam (Benjamin ) and Pamela Murray. He is also survived by his step-daughters, Stephanie and Aimee C. Zambrana; his grand-daughters: Isabeau, Olivia, Jordan and Lara; his oldest brother Gerald Murray as well as his brother and sister in law, Agnes and Jose R. Izquierdo. He is predeceased by his brother Donald Murray. He will be missed by everyone he knew.

A celebration of Frank's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Tuesday, April 3rd from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will take place at The Parish of Christ the Redeemer Church located at 1415 Pelhamdale Avenue in Pelham Manor on Wednesday, April 4th at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow at Pelham Cemetery, Kings Avenue in City Island NY.
