Francia Trainor of Tuckahoe, NY and Bucks County, PA passed away on Thursday, May 11. She was 71 years old. Born in Manhattan to John and Daisy Trainor Fran grew up along side of her brother, John. Raised in the Bronx, Fran attended Villa Maria Academy, Mother Butler High School and Mount Ida College in Newton, MA. She had a wonderful childhood helping her parents run their boatyard in City Island. She loved the out doors and developed a keen skill of riding horses. Ultimately, Fran would compete as a teen and became one of the top show jumpers in the country. Her love of animals also led to her involvement with dogs. Fran was a top Great Dane Breeder for many years and was a member of the American Kennel Club and Northern New Jersey Great Dane Club.
After graduating college, Fran worked briefly in advertising but her experience working the boatyards with her parents came full circle when she became the owner of her own Cabaret Boat in New York City. She worked hard and had many wonderful experiences as owner of that boat.
A warm and engaging person, Fran loved people and people loved talking to her. She was someone that other's came to for advise. She loved her family especially her dear nieces and cousins. She was someone who was well informed and loved talking politics and current events.
Fran is predeceased by her brother, John Trainor. She is survived by her nieces: Anastasia, Alessandra and Anne-Marie.
A celebration of Fran's life will take place on Tuesday, May 16th from 8:00 to 9:00 AM at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 16th at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle, NY. Interment to follow the Mass at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY.
