Douglas Lifrieri

Douglas W. Lifrieri, of Mount Vernon NY passed away on Wednesday November 7th, 2018. He was 85 years old. Douglas was born in Parkchester NY on November 24th 1933. He was raised in Mount Vernon where he attended local schools.

After graduating from High School, Douglas would enroll in United States Airforce. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Upon his return home from the war, Douglas would earn his credentials as a plumber. He worked his way up as manager of Local 86 before becoming a Business Agent for Local 299. He was also a member of Local 21.

Douglas was a social man with a lot of friends. He always knew where to find a good meal and knew the maitre d of every restaurant on a first name basis. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had a nickname for everyone he met.

Douglas will be remembered as a truthful and kind gentle man, a hard worker and was always there to help a friend in need.

Douglas is survived by many cousins and friends.

A celebration of Douglas's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Tuesday, November 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St Catherines Church located at 25 Second Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Wednesday November 14th at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
