Colin J. Tolan

Colin Tolan of Brooklyn New York, formerly of Malahide, Co Dublin passed away on February 3rd, 2024. He was 45 years old. Born in Dublin to Joseph and Marie Tolan, Colin was the youngest of three children. He was raised in Malahide where he attended St. Oliver Plunkett’s primary school before graduating from Scoil Neasain Secondary School. After graduating secondary school Colin would take some PLC courses before working for AIB Bank.

In 2007 Colin would move to New York where he worked in Fiddlesticks for over 10 years. He was a loyal and efficient employee who was always very welcoming. He was well loved by his patrons and friend. Fiddlesticks was a special place for Colin as it was there, he would meet his partner of 10 years Sarah McTighe.

Despite living abroad Colin always kept in touch with his many friends and family in Ireland. He loved to take trips back to Ireland, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Spain. He will be remembered as generous, open hearted, fun loving, loyal and kind person.

Colin is survived by his partner Sarah, his parents Joseph and Marie, his brother Gareth (Deirdre Waldron) Tolan, his sister Claire (Christian Sommerauer) Tolan, his two nieces Grace and Cara and three nephews Sam, Joey and Albi. Colin will be missed by his extended family, friends and everyone who knew him.

Colins remains will be repatriated home to Malahide Co. Dublin where a service will take place. Please see below the service details for Colin back home in Ireland.
