Charles "Chuck" H. Amann of Pelham Manor passed away peacefully on Saturday February 25th. He was 82 years old. He was born August 30, 1934 in the Bronx to Henry & Caroline Amann. He graduated from Evander Childs High School in 1952, where he met his high school sweetheart, Mary (nee Crawford), whom he'd later marry. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. He married Mary on July 6, 1958. Following his tenure in the service he pursued his education and achieved his Bachelor of Science and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute. His career began at IBM and spent the majority of his career at ITT Corporation, more specifically ITT's FAX PAC division where he'd become a manager and earned numerous recognitions including the title "Employee of the Year". Among his achievements at FAX PAC was his work on the fax machine that would connect the White House to the Kremlin. Chuck resided in Pelham Manor since 1970 and was deeply tied to his community. He served as Pelham's Tax Receiver for 8 years under Supervisor Joe Solimine's tenure. Chuck also served as a Deacon/Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of New Rochelle. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion Post 50, The Larchmont Shore Club and the Pelham Rotary Club where he served as Treasurer. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary, his cherished sons, Charles Scott (Shelagh), and Kenneth, and loving grandchildren, Molly & Jack. He is predeceased by his sister, Carol Ann. A celebration of Chuck's life will take place on Tuesday 4-8pm at the Pelham Funeral Home 64 Lincoln Avenue Pelham, 914-738-1060. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 10:30am at Huguenot Memorial Church 901 Pelhamdale Ave Pelham followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
