Carmella (Camille) Spadaro, of Pelham, passed peacefully to be with our Lord on March 9 with her loving family by her side. Camille is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Pete, her beloved children Peter (Lynda) of St. Petersburg, Fla., Louis (Tanya) of Newburgh, NY., and Donna, of Mamaroneck, N.Y., as well as her dearest sister, Florence Sardisco of Beverly Hills, Ca.
Camille is also leaving behind her 6 cherished grandchildren, Peter III, Diana, Michelle, John, Stephen and Louis, who were all the light of her life and to whom she was the best "Mema "in the world. Camille was born in New Rochelle, N.Y. in 1939, to Nunzio and Mary Caiazzo (nee Strazza) and was a lifetime resident of New Rochelle and Pelham. Camille graduated from New Rochelle HS and married the love of her life in 1958. Camille raised her family and enjoyed working as an Executive Assistant at Schaffer Food Company in New Rochelle for nearly 20 Â years. Camille found another very rewarding work experience in her mid-60's to early 70's working in the Pelham Central School District offices, a job which she enjoyed immensely, until her retirement at age 74
Camille was a devoted parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in West New Rochelle and was active in that community for many years. She was a devout follower of St. Jude, who was a strong influence on the way Camille led her life. Camille embraced growing up in the tight knit West New Rochelle neighborhood where she forged numerous close friendships that lasted a lifetime. She loved to spend time with her dear cousins, playing cards, and she lived life to the fullest with family and faith at the center of everything
A celebration of Camille's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY, on Monday, March 11th from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Church located at 83 Clove Rd, New Rochelle, NY on Tuesday March 12th at 10:00am. Interment will follow on at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains NY.
