Antonio Marques

Antonio C. Marques, a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, NY passed away on December 23, 2017. He was 75 years old. Antonio was born in Vizio, Portugal to Jose Da Silva Marques and Maria Augusta Da Cruz. He was the oldest of three children. After graduating from High School Antonio joined the Portuguese Airforce and worked as an Aircraft mechanic. In 1967 Antonio married his wife of 51 years, Maria Antonia Flora in Lisbon Portugal.
They welcomed their first child Acacio (Cass) in 1968 and moved to the United States on May 8th, 1971. In 1972, their daughter, Paula was born. Antonio started working as a landscaper and ultimately started his own landscaping company "Three Brother Landscaping".

In his spare time Antonio loved to fish, garden and feed the birds. He loved the outdoors and anything that had to do with nature. He also liked soccer and enjoyed rooting for S.L. Benfica and FC. Porto. Antonio will be remembered as a loving family man. He was hard working, generous and self-motivated.

Antonio leaves behind his wife, Maria Antonia, his children, Acacio (Vera) and Paula (Michael), his grandchildren Nicholas, Natalie, Michael and Morgan. He is also survived by his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Antonio's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY on Thursday, December 28th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catharine's Church on Friday, December 29th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
