Anthony Joseph Oliva Sr of Pelham NY passed away on November 6th 2019. He was 58 years old. Anthony was born in Bronxville Hospital to Angelo and Margaret Oliva. He was raised in the Bronx with his brother David. He attended Mt. St Michael Academy where he excelled in football and was handball champion.
To say Anthony was a self starter would be an understatement. Upon graduating high school he went to work for his Uncle at Detco Construction. On the side he was a DJ and it was through his side business he would meet the love of his life Lori Ann Comastro. The couple met in 1979 and would later marry at St. Catharines Church in 1984.
Anthony moved to Pelham in 1984 and started AJO Home Improvements. He became very involved in the local community and was often asked to run for mayor due to the many friends he made in town. Anthony was a little league coach, Assistant Volunteer at Pelham Varsity Football, a member of the Pelham Booster Club, sat on the Pelham Little League board of directors, Co. founder & President of Pelham Youth Tackle Association and a proud lifetime member of the NRA. In his spare time he loved to hunt and fish with his son Anthony Jr. and friends. They took many trips to Cabo, Florida, Ohio and Glen Island to fish and up to Nicky's and Texas to hunt. If Anthony was not hunting you could find him playing three card poker or hanging outside Wolfs Lane Deli.
Anthony will be remembered as a selfless and eager to help guy. He would help anyone in need and was always the life of the party. Through his selflessness and humor he had many friends.
Anthony is survived by his wife Lori, his son Anthony Jr and daughter-in-law Alexis. He is also survived by his Father Angelo, stepmother Elizabeth, brother David (Renee) Oliva. He will be deeply missed by his nephew Nicholas and niece Camryn. He will be missed by his many friends, extended family and everyone who ever knew or met him. Anthony is predeceased by his mother Margaret Ann Oliva.
